What the ride to Munich costs

Every price is per car and per journey, never per person. Tolls, the Austrian vignette, bags and tax are part of it; there are no night, weekend or holiday surcharges.

Why hardly anyone drives themselves

The road from Innsbruck to Munich

The drive follows the A12 and the A93 down the Inn valley, joins the A8 near Rosenheim and runs into the city — about two hours when the road is clear. German motorways are toll-free, the Austrian vignette is part of the fixed price.

On Oktoberfest weekends the approach to Munich backs up reliably. We plan the departure with time to spare, and the minutes in a jam cost nothing extra: the price was settled before we set off.

The second option runs over Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It is ten kilometres shorter and a good deal prettier, but takes about as long — which of the two makes sense on the day is something the driver decides in the morning.

Where we drop you in Munich

No car reaches the festival ground itself. We come as close as the barriers allow, and for the way home we agree on a meeting point you can still find at two in the morning. A hotel, a flat or the trade fair works just as well: give us the address and we pull up at the door.

Questions about the Oktoberfest transfer

What does a transfer from Innsbruck to Munich cost?

From Innsbruck city centre into town it is €310 in the Toyota RAV4 for up to three guests, €320 in the Mercedes Vito for up to eight, €370 in the Mercedes V-Class for up to seven. The amount is per car, not per person, and it is settled before you book.

How long does the ride to the Oktoberfest take?

About two hours for roughly 155 kilometres. On a festival Saturday the last stretch can add half an hour — we then collect you earlier, at no extra cost.

Do you also drive back in the middle of the night?

Yes. We drive around the clock, on all 16 days of the festival. Give us a rough time when you book; if it turns out later, a short call is enough, the driver waits.

Can you drop us right at the Theresienwiese?

As close as the barriers allow on the day — the festival ground itself has no visitor parking. The driver knows the access points, picks the one nearest your tent.

How many people fit in the car?

Three guests in the Toyota RAV4, eight in the Mercedes Vito, seven in the V-Class with more comfort. Larger groups travel in two cars — tell us the number of people, we put it together.

What about bags?

Only a small bag may be carried onto the festival ground. Anyone arriving with a suitcase is therefore dropped at the hotel first, then driven on to the tents — that detour costs nothing.

How and when do I pay?

To the driver after the ride, cash or card. Nothing upfront, no deposit, no card details when you book. An invoice on request.
